Special Weekend Sweet Treat; A Healthy Breakfast you will love.  Today we cooked our spiced seed granola, it really is a great healthy breakfast for when you want to impress.

 As your weekend, special treat healthy breakfast or your favorite dessert topper this granola is as tasty as it gets. At Approx. 300 calories per serve this high protein and good fat delight will have you wanting more!!

Benefits of the ingredients:

Raw Pumpkin Seeds:

are a great mix of carbohydrates, amino acids and unsaturated fatty acids. Packed with vitamin Bs, C, D, E, K, potassium, phosphorus and calcium.

Raw Sunflower Seeds:

are also another great mix of healthy macronutrients as well as being a great source of vitamin E, B1, B3, B6, manganese, selenium, phosphorus, magnesium and folate.

Cinnamon:

is a powerful and popular spice that has been used for centuries medicinally. This potent spice is high in antioxidants, fiber and manganese.

Chia Seeds:

are another power packed seed. They again are high in fiber, calcium, magnesium, manganese and phosphorus.

Spiced Seed Granola Recipe

(12 servings)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Raw Pumpkin seeds
  • 2 cups Raw Sunflower seeds
  • 5 Tbsp. Chia Seeds
  • 2 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 2 tsp. Ground Ginger
  • ¼ cup Maple Syrup
  • ¼ cup Raw Honey

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 300F.
  2. Line a tray with baking paper.
  3. Place the pumpkin and sunflower seeds in a food processor, and process until turned into coarse meal.
  4. Pour into a medium size mixing bowl, add the chia seeds, cinnamon & ginger; stir together.
  5. Add maple syrup and honey; continue to mix.
  6. Spread mixture out onto baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes; turn half way. Serve & ENJOY!!

Remove from oven and cool before transferring it into a glass jar for storage (last approx. 10 days).
