OATS HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR YEARS BUT SO HAVE MOST FAD FOODS THAN COME AND GO ALL THE TIME. WITH MOST OF THEM HAVING NO REAL PROVEN BENEFITS…

I’ve been asked quite a few times about oats, is it really that much better for me to eat them “uncooked” over cooked..

SO WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF RAW OVER COOKED?

Below are the reasoning behind WHY overnight or soaked raw oats are better for you than cooked:

1. EASIER FOR OUR BODY TO DIGEST

Raw oats’ starch is broken down & their natural physic acid is released to make them easier for the body to absorb.

2. HIGHER IN RESISTANCE STARCH

This is found in all carbohydrate foods and it assists with feeling full for an extended period of time, aids with weight loss and even improves digestion. It also helps with reducing insulin spikes from carbohydrates.

3. FASTER TO PREPARE

They are faster to prepare, only taking a few minutes and you can do so in the evening, same time as preparing dinner.

4. THEY ARE SO VERSITILE

You can add an assortment of flavor to satisfy even the most discerning taste buds.

APPLE N CINNAMON OVERNIGHT OATS RECIPE

* ½ cup of cashew milk (or milk alternative)
* 1/4 cup steel cut oats or whole oats
* 1/4 cup grated apple
* 1 tsp. of vanilla extract
* ½ tsp. of cinnamon
* 1 tbsp almond slivers (optional)
* ½ tbsp Chia Seeds (optional)

The Night before: Place the oats, vanilla extract, cinnamon, apple and milk* into a mason jar (or container) and place in fridge.

In the morning: add the almonds if you want some protein/add the chia seeds for fiber and omega-3 fats, if you like it warm, heat slightly. That is it, now it’s ready to eat!!
